Ages We Serve
We are a fully licensed New York State Child Care Center located in Bay Shore, New York. Our center provides services to infants and toddlers and operate a full-service nursery school for children of Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten ages. Our programs are designed for children from six weeks old up to those ready for kindergarten. Annually, we celebrate the graduation of our Pre-K students, sending them off to kindergarten fully prepared both physically and emotionally. In the summer, our program stays the same, and we add water days to our Playground schedule, but our prices and schedule stay the same
6 WEEKS - 18 MONTHS
Infant Program
Storybook Kids boasts one of the largest infant programs, featuring three dedicated infant rooms tailored to the children's cognitive and mobility abilities. Our youngest infant room welcomes children as young as six weeks old, providing a relaxing environment filled with tummy time, storytelling, bubbles, and exceptional care.
Our crawling room offers older infants the opportunity to explore their surroundings. Here, they are encouraged to crawl and interact with peers, learning about their environment through movement. This classroom is vibrant with dance, movement, and an assortment of toys to engage your infant.
Our walking infant classroom allows older infants the freedom to navigate the space at their own pace. These active infants are constantly on the move and require stimulation through more activities. This space is where they begin their transition to toddlerhood. They gain independence by sitting at tables, eating on their own, sleeping on cots, and enjoying time on the playground. They remain in this classroom until they reach 18 months of age. At that point, parents are notified that their child is ready to advance to a toddler classroom.

Toddlers Program
Our toddler program is the largest within our center, accommodating a diverse group of toddlers aged between 18 months and three years. To ensure personalized attention and developmentally appropriate experiences, we have divided our toddlers into five distinct rooms. This structure enables us to support your toddler's academic and cognitive growth effectively.
Our toddlers engage in a variety of activities including circle time for learning, socializing with friends in different centers, and physical activities on our playground, all designed to foster their development and enjoyment.
3 YEAR OLDS
Pre-K Program
We offer an exceptional Pre-K program. While some school districts now include Pre-K in their elementary schools, Storybook Kids maintains a private Pre-K program. The advantages of our program include allowing your child to play and learn in a secure, private setting. Storybook Kids provides full-day Pre-K programs, eliminating the need for parents to arrange for after-school care.
Our focus is on ensuring children are ready for kindergarten by teaching them foundational reading and writing skills. Meanwhile, they still have the chance to play, learn, and interact in an environment distinct from that of an elementary school. Allowing your child to spend an additional year in our nurturing and loving school can make a significant difference as they transition to kindergarten.
4 YEAR OLDS
Preschool Program
This program allows our 3 year olds to advance their learning through academics and play. They start with learning how to write their names. Our curriculum helps the children learn in fun ways. They start getting the foundations of reading and writing that they will take into pre-K. We also help with potty training. We do not required children to be potty trained to enter preschool. We help them as they go through the year and work with children on all potty training levels.
